At JOB SA Engineering & Management, we believe a product is only as good as the way it goes into the ground and the way it’s proven once it’s there.

Too many project failures don’t start with a bad product — they start with the wrong installation method, a shortcut on preparation, or a test that was never done properly in the first place. Our role is to close that gap: working alongside mining operations, contractors and engineers to make sure geotechnical and civil products are installed the correct way, and tested with the rigour the application demands.

From site preparation and correct installation practice through to on-site and laboratory testing, our approach is built on field experience and technical accountability — not just supplying a product and walking away.

We are committed to standing behind our recommendations with the same discipline our clients expect underground and on-site: install it right, test it properly, and stand behind the result.

One partnership, two disciplines: supply, installation and proof of performance

Lichenry and JOB SA Engineering & Management are joint venture partners at Slope Stability X26, bringing together product supply with hands-on geotechnical installation and testing expertise for mining and civils.

Together, the partnership addresses a gap that costs projects more than most realise: products that are technically sound on paper but fail on site — not because the product was wrong, but because installation practice or testing rigour fell short. As a joint venture, Lichenry and JOB SA give mining operations, contractors and consulting engineers a single point of accountability from product selection through to proven, in-ground performance.

JOB SA started out nearly twenty years ago in Mozambique, with development projects ranging from the construction of schools to five-star holiday resorts.

Rehabilitation and stabilization of slopes
From those early projects, JOB SA became involved in numerous geotechnical services, specialising in the rehabilitation and stabilization of slopes measuring 20 metres to 350 metres and higher.

Entering the South African market
The company branched into South Africa in 2016, where some of its directors were involved in the stabilization of Chapman’s Peak — a project that went on to win Construction Magazine’s Best Recommended Project Award.

Branching out to Ghana
JOB SA has since opened an office in Ghana, where it is currently involved in the stabilization of the Aburi Peduase Road.

Led by Managing Director Leon Oosthuysen, JOB SA today provides geotechnical engineering, correct installation practice and technical testing services to the mining and civils sectors — work built on nearly two decades of experience stabilising some of the highest and most technically demanding slopes on the continent.
