Ohveshlan Pillay
Ohveshlan is a Chartered Professional Mining Engineer and has over 17 years’ experience with open pit and underground rock engineering. He is currently the Gauteng Branch Chairperson of the South African National Institute of Rock Engineers (SANIRE), a member of the Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) and a member of the Society of Mining Professors (SOMP) and has presented at International and National Engineering conferences with technical publications. Ohveshlan served as a committee member for the African Regional Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering in partnership with the South African Institute of Civil Engineers (SAICE). Ohveshlan has joined the University of the Witwatersrand as a lecturer after spending 12 years in various international consulting practices.
