Chief Rock Engineer, Foskor

Presentation:

Key Considerations for Effective Slope Performance Monitoring: A Case Study

  1. Importance of defining clear objectives upfront. What are we trying to achieve with the monitoring system? (e.g., improve safety, reduce risk)
  2. Selecting the right technology for a specific site conditions: What type of monitoring system(s) will best suit our needs? (e.g., radar, prisms, drones)
  3. Data management and interpretation are critical to success: How will we collect, process, and interpret the data?
  4. Importance of Integration: How will the monitoring system integrate with our existing operations and decision-making processes?
  5. Case study (Challenges): Impact of PMC Pit slope failure to Foskor’s infrastructure, what have we learned?
